Channellist for VDR

With this ZIP-Package it is possible to manage VDR (Video Disk Recorder) channellists via AddNat conveniently.

Following situation is well known. Your TV provider is changing channels. The effect is, you have to scan for these changes "e.g. with wirbelscan" and then in a second step you have to sort the channels in a desired way.

This process is boring, it is annoying and unefficient!

To make this things obsolete, we from AddNat developed a new kind of AddCard called "Channellist". Here you are simply creating your channel order which can be taking over to your VDR. It´s really simple!

But it´s getting better. You can dispose your channellist to others like your friends or family members. In that case, these people don´t have to manage their channels at all.

System Requirements

Installation Guide

Open a terminal on your VDR and execute following commands
#Following commands has to be executed, if you are missing one of the software packages mentioned above
apt-get install libxml2
apt-get install libxml2-utils
apt-get install curl
#In case all software packages exists, you can go on right here
cd /srv
mkdir vdr2addnat
cd vdr2addnat/
curl "http://addnat.com/downloads/vdr2addnat.zip" > vdr2addnat.zip
unzip vdr2addnat.zip
rm vdr2addnat.zip
chmod 755 vdr2addnat.sh
chmod 666 *.properties
chown vdr:vdr *
The filelist of directory /srv/vdr2addnat should look something like this:
ll /srv/vdr2addnat/
drwxr-xr-x 2 vdr vdr 4096 Nov 13 11:14 ./
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Sep 9 11:37 ../
-rw-rw-rw- 1 vdr vdr 424 Nov 13 11:14 addnat.properties
-rw-rw-rw- 1 vdr vdr 2005 Sep 9 00:52 de.properties
-rw-rw-rw- 1 vdr vdr 1895 Sep 9 00:52 en.properties

-rwxr-xr-x 1 vdr vdr 10027 Okt 13 01:06 vdr2addnat.sh*
Now you have to check only the import parameter (row #9) in file addnat.properties. If it´s not correct, just input the right file location of your channels.conf. Maybe you should also have a look for your langauge paramter at row #7. It could be en or de.
#autostart is optional. It restarts the vdr automatically after update, if it is true
#appendUnknownChannels is optional. It appends unknown channels in AddCard
